Department of Early Childhood Education and Care
The early years in a child’s formation are the most important. Learning how to be involved in a child’s training and upbringing is vital. With a basis in psychology and medical understanding, students learn how to use play, songs, and arts and crafts to expand children’s potential by giving them a wide variety of skills and knowledge to use throughout life.
Licenses and Certifications
- Department of Early Childhood Education and Care Pre-school Teacher
This certification is for teaching children from three years of age until elementary school.
- Nursery School Teacher
This certification is for the care of children from new-born to 18 years of age by providing support for physical and mental development.
- Recreation Instructor
This certification is for those who, through play and games, provide instruction to infants and youth, as well as aiding in the maintenance of the QOL of the aged.
- Social Work Officer
This certification is necessary for those who want to work in Japanese social work offices.
Pre-schools, nursery schools, child caregiving institutions (group homes), institutions for people with mental disabilities, and government offices.
