Department of Social Work

SSocial welfare and mental health welfare professionals are called social workers. the Department of Social Work is designed to provide national qualifications and teach the knowledge and skills necessary for becoming a social worker, all while seeking “what happiness is.” A great variety of subjects unique to welfare are available in this program, and students can freely select subjects based on their plans or themes that they want to pursue. In addition, the welfare focus offers an important strategic perspective for companies in an aging society that is producing fewer children.

*Social work officer, child welfare officer (must have at least 1 year of work experience at a designated facility), welfare officer for mentally disabled persons, welfare officer for disabled persons, family counselor

Department of Human and Social Studies

Students will study sociology to learn about the role of welfare and hearlth care in an ever-changing societyand psychology to better understand the mechanisms of the human mind. Through corporate society and human communication classes, they will also learn communication skills and become proactive in discovering problems and solving them on their own.
Through these subjects, the program will foster human resources equipped with the ability to pursue problems and human skills.

Department of Health and Sports

As society ages, the birth rate decreases, and many people are highly stressed, so how to sustain health is important for people of all ages and genders to understand. Students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to promote the health of the mind and body while also working toward obtaining relevant accreditation. In the future, they will strongly protect people’s health and support happiness in life as educators and instructors.

Department of Nursing

St. Catalina Gakuen has contributed to local healthcare through nursing education in St. Catalina Gakuen High School (formerly St. Catalina Girls High School) for over 50 years. With the new Department of Nursing, the university’s school motto “love and truth,” and the education policy of the Faculty of Human Health and Welfare“cultivating people that can contribute to creating a society of health and welfare that pursues health and welfare” can be promoted and enhanced, and the university will provide education that can cater to the local needs of health, welfare, and public health.

The Graduate School fosters highly specialized professionals who cultivate advanced and intellectual grounding based on academic substrates to support the promotion and construction of community-based comprehensive care, have a research perspective, and contribute as leaders, administrators, and educators in the field of health, medical care, and welfare while developing in-depth community relations and building care that makes use of their own expertise.
